TG1 starts drilling WA copper-gold target
Our copper exploration Investment TechGen Metals (ASX: TG1) just launched its first ever drill program on the first of its two big WA copper-gold targets.
Remember these two giant blobs - TG1 has:
- Blue Devil (on the left) - a 2.75km wide conductor (possible copper sulphides) sitting on top of a giant magnetic intrusion with rock chips from surface grading up to 50.5% copper and 18.5g/t gold
- Red Devil (on the right) - ~3km from Blue Devil - an IP geophysical target sitting directly beneath rock chips grading up to 52.3% copper and 5.35g/t gold across ~1.8km.

Over the weekend TG1 started diamond drilling at Red Devil where a single diamond hole is planned.
So inside the next few weeks we find out if the first of TG1’s targets comes in and a company making discovery is made…

This is the first-ever drill test of this ground, culminating in around 2 years TG1 has spent building up to with geophysics, surface sampling, heritage work and permitting.
Red Devil is the more recently defined of the two targets.
It is an IP (Induced Polarisation) chargeability anomaly sitting ~175m to 225m below surface and ~300m thick, directly under surface rock chips that have graded up to 52.3% copper and 5.35g/t gold.
TG1's MD Ash Hood says the geochemical and structural data make Red Devil the "best" target the company has brought to market.

Once the Red Devil hole is done, the rig will immediately move ~3km across to Blue Devil, where two holes are planned.
Blue Devil is the bigger of the two targets, and the one we have been most interested in, having followed its progress for over 18 months now.
It is made up of three strong airborne EM conductors running across 2.75km, sitting ~150m above an interpreted magnetic intrusion, with surface rock chips grading up to 50.5% copper and 18.5g/t gold.

What’s next for TG1?
Drill WA copper-gold targets (Blue and Red Devil)
In the short term it's all attention on TG1’s next drill program across Blue and Red Devil.
Given TG1’s drilling with a diamond rig, there is always a chance TG1 announces visuals from the hole (assuming there is anything to announce).
That could be inside the next few weeks - with assays to come after.
Of course, TG1 may find nothing too… this is greenfields exploration, the geophysics shows TG1 where to drill, not whether the rocks are mineralised, so there is no guarantee either target delivers a discovery.
Here are the milestones we are tracking:
- ✅ Drilling permits approved
- ✅ Rig contracts signed
- ✅ Rig mobilises to site
- ✅ Drilling starts at Red Devil - Today
- 🔲 Visuals from Red Devil
- 🔲 Drilling starts at Blue Devil - To follow Red Devil drilling
- 🔲 Visuals from Blue Devil
- 🔲 Assay results from maiden drilling
